The first part was interesting, but the second half was a gigantic hippy love-fest. God meets The Secret meets The American Family Association. This ruins what could have been a good read.
Odd and eclectic book. Reads almost like someone gathered a number of blog posts and sorted them by content into what is a coherent whole. While a thread runs through the entire thing, the topics start at the tricks of advertising and salesmanship, segway from there into the harmful effects a negative mind can have, continues into ways one can use to improve one's mind and make it more positive, and ends with talk of future research.

Internetten de bulabileceğiniz dağınık bilgilerle dolu bir kitap. Kitaptaki tavsiyeler belki işe yarayabilir ama herhangi bilimsel analizden oldukça uzak. Kitabın ilk bölümü 'zihnimizi kontrol ediyorlar' üzerine, ikinci bölümü de sözüm ona kendi zihnimizin kontrolünü ele almak üzere teknikler anlatıyor ama işe yarar kısmı belki iki sayfa falandır. Ben o kısmı da bulabildiğimi söyleyemeyeceğim.

An interesting read, but at many points I got the impression that the descriptions, stories, and case studies were just acting as setups to advertise other books and subliminal CD programs. I really don't know if that was intended. I found it a little off-putting at first, then I started to appreciate the irony. All in all, this reads more like a blog post series than a textbook about mind control.

Not sure how to classify this book - is it about Persuasion or Spiritual or even Sef-Help?
Seem to be 3 separate books (part 2 and 3 are better)
Wish Mr Taylor had elaborated more on the topic 'guarding against overstimulation' instead of just 3 pages .......may be the topic for his next book.
Do visit his website, it contains a lot of material there too.

3.5 stars. I love Eldon's work and approach and there were many things that made this book a worthwhile read (the 7 fundamentals are a nice synthesis of wider teachings). However, I must admit that I was expecting more. It felt a bit disjointed and there were no 'A-ha' moments for me. Perhaps I'm too familiar with Eldon's work and this would be a book more suited to an Eldon newbie, or at least someone unfamiliar with the material within.
Subliminal messaging works by bypassing critical consciousness. Can be used to further nefarious political or consumer interests, but individuals can learn to harness power of suggestion for personal growth. Quotes: 'Not only is our reality a matter of choice, but so is the power we give it.' 'Whatever the mind can conceive in sufficient detail, it can create.' ' Memories aren't erased--they're suppressed.'

I found this book to overtly bias and heavily opinionated with the authors conservative and religious views. I quit after page page 89; excerpt: 'It takes an act of society and an orchestrated effort by educators to produce an atheist. In a sense, atheism is a product of brainwashing.'

This is the second book I read from Eldon Taylor. I like the fact that he references his previous books and as well as gives the synopsis so I could clearly understand his points. As a hypnotist, his work and books is a must for all hypnotist and I believe as important as Dr. Ericsson

Great book on the way that all of us are continually controlled/brainwashed/ and how easily it happens.
First part of the book is interesting but slow. Second part of the book much better thank the first part.
intersting but oriented mainly on american readers so at times i felt like skipping half the chapters or simply not too caught up by the cause. there are some rather interesting parts though.

liked the second half better than the first. Loved the free CD.
A bit of a disappointment. Too dry and dense. Some of the material was useful, but only in a limited fashion.
